"You Never Forget Your First Time"
I have been wanting to post this since the time I flew Kingfisher airline on a domestic leg in India. The moment I saw the e-ticket, I had the impression of flying a low cost airline. But then, I was proved wrong. Just when I reached the airport and got-off the car, I saw these helpers from this airline waiting for passengers to help them carry their baggage into the airport. You can easily recognise them with their red dress and the kingfisher logo on them. One of them came over to me and asked politely if I was flying Kingfisher. When I said yes, He offered to carry my baggage till the screening area and then on to the check-in counter.
I was even pleased with the way the lady at the check-in counter treated me and the good experience was carried on even to the plane. It was an 'ALL ECONOMY CLASS' flight with wider seats with personal screen on each one of them!. You get amazing hot food and goodies that included key chain,head-phone,candies all packed in a nice red pouch that can be used to carry your mobile phone or your sun-glasses.
Mind you, when I saw the fare on the ticket, I really had an impression that it was a low-cost carrier. So what I have come to understand is that there are full-cost carriers and there are low-cost no-frills airline and there are these 'value for money' airlines in between which are in existence.
And particularly about kingfisher, we know that it is owned by Vijay mallya. A person who I always prefer to call as the 'Richard Branson of India'. For your information, Richard Branson is the man at the helm of Virgin group and also owns Virgin Atlantic airways. I have not flown Virgin Atlantic, But I have read that the Virgin planes spoil customers with far superior service and choices.
They both are very similar in more than one characteristics. They are flamboyant, make enormous wealth, very powerful, so on.So I'm not surprised that they both have a strong red theme around their airlines.
Like the Virgin Ad goes,"You never forget your first time....". I truly agree with this advertisement in relation to flying Kingfisher Airlines.
If you consider the airline industry in India, The changes that are going through are as fast as these aircraft fly. And as consumers, we are treated with plethora of choices that are real value for money.
