Traffic jam over my head !!

No Joking....Look at reports about the new and upcoming private airlines in India -

SpiceJet sells 37,348 tickets on first day - Largest Number in Asia.

Promotional scheme from Kingfisher Air

Another daily flight between Chennai and Kuala Lumpur - by Jet Airways.

There is a new low-cost version of our desi AirIndia - Air India Express that launched its flights
recently.

Thanks to the private airlines based out of Bangalore - AirDeccan, Kingfisher Airlines. It is now the most busiest domestic airport in India after Mumbai. You must see the state of Bangalore Airport- You would not believe that it can be the second most busiest domestic airport in India. Happy Flying!!

Wow, I didn't know about SpiceJet and kingfisher airlines.!

Who owns these airlines and where to they fly to? All local?

Thanks to all these private airlines, people in Indian Airlines/Air India are feeling the pinch.!!

After posting my earlier comment, I found that Mallya owns Kingfisher airlines ( as expected).

What about Air Deccan, Spice Jet and Jet Airways?

Is there any airline in India owned by Reliance / Tata /Birlas?

@vasu venkat:You are absolutely right,Vasu ( or venkat?)!Of course, there is severe competition for Bangalore now - mainly from Chennai. Looks like Hyderabad is quite silent for sometime now ;-)

@narayanan venkitu:Thanks for dropping by. Ya, you are right- kingfisher is owned by Vijay Mallya, India's very own Richard Branson ;-D!!
Spice jet is the new Avatar of Modiluft of early 90's.
Air Deccan also has another flourishing business - helicopters division. In my opinion, these new airlines are a real competiton for established airlines like Jet and Air Sahara.I'm not including Air Deccan in this - the service is extremely poor service and most of their flights get cancelled in the last minute!
